@icedquinn It does actually work, whether you remove the pin or not, as eventually either the over-pressure valve blows out and sprays the extinguishing contents over at least part of the fire, or it explodes and spreads the extinguishing contents everywhere.

Certain Russian's have used the exploding technique to put out "eternal flames" that aren't extinguishable via normal methods like water.
