You may slide in some areas, year after year, but if you spend each Spring making improvements, before long the improvements will outnumber the problem areas year after year, and you, your home, the world around you, will end each Winter in a better place than when you started, and there's nothing better in life than that. You can enjoy the satisfaction of all of those completed tasks, and find fulfillment in all the labor and toil that comes with being part of a world that perpetually has to rise again from the ashes, from being a being in a perpetual state of need and nourishment.
It's not just about building - that's what I chose because it's what Spring reminds me of. This is your time to create, though. If it's not a structure, make it art, make it life, make it music or written word, but make it something that leaves the world a better place than it was the day before you forced your will upon it.
This Spring, that's all I want from my White folk. Did you honestly apply your strength and talents to improve yourself, and all that you survey? You won't always be successful, but if you put that effort in, you're walking down the right path to an end that we all so desperately need.
This Spring, remake yourself, and don't forget to take a moment to stop and smell the flowers, and watch the world spring back to life alongside you. It all happens so quickly, and each year its pace quickens. I promise, those moments of pause you take amid the fervent productivity will be all the kindling you need to keep the inner fires burning.
You're a part of it all, and you always will be. Don't shy from it, embrace it, and be born anew.
Happy Spring, poasters.
Please poast responsibly.
