- Embed this notice@arcana @rat @cell I think it's that there are really two meanings of slop being used here, one completely seriously for things that are obviously bad, and one as a kind of affectionate moniker for things that aren't actually bad but may look as though they are to people who put on a show of being cultured, for instance, I'll happily refer to, say, the meals you can order at Costco as being slop despite being really good, simply because they superficially have the appearance of such and can be judged as such by snobs, same with fastfood poutine, gyros, coney island hot dogs, anything in that conceptual orbit.
