The reason I’m so opposed to government intervention with the internet, be it sec 230 reforms or TikTok bans or FOSTA/SESTA is because there is a direct line between laws that say “oh we’re just trying to protect the kids or keep the communists away” and “we’re just going to make any site that doesn’t adhere to US IP laws inaccessible” - and then once you do that, it’s another direct line to prohibiting “harmful” speech or content.
