Back then I actually couldn't tell exactly what sort of creature the Burmecians were, at first I even thought that maybe Freya's face could be a mask. The world of FF9 almost feels more like a fairy tale than an RPG, with most characters who are not nameless npcs being all sorts of unique different races.
