ZB gibt es im Deutschen Museum das U-Boot das erste deutsche U-Boot von 1906 U1 zu besichtigen. Dafür nutzte man bereits alle Vorteile der Elektromotoren bei der Tauch fahrt: Spitzenwirkungsgrad, kein Sauerstoffverbrauch, keine Abgase, kaum Lärm.
