- Embed this notice@Aaron As far as I am aware, xz and liblzma is released to the public domain (aside from certain buildscripts and tests, which are copyrighted under free software licenses) and as public domain doesn't qualify as "open source" (as that's a certification as to the types of licenses on source code), Lasse is a free software developer and not an "open source" one.
It's a real shame that proprietary software companies are likely to go and bother this great developer to trying to get him to make xz proprietary.
I don't see any gaslighting - only encouragement to add "Jia" (by "Jia") as a maintainer due to Lasse's general reluctance, with Lasse eventually agreeing after determining that "Jia" had been making legitimate commits for 1.5 years.
