In the mid-late 90s, I was one of those fortunate people. I was an "online kid," and the early growth of the web gave many of us opportunities to shine in not-yet-named roles that are now credentialed, crowded, or automated away.
I try to remember that when I see young people in particular pinning their hopes on tech trends I read as snake oil: BlockChain-Everything, NFTs, AI-Everything, and so on. The window of "nobody really gets this yet" levels the playing field.
