No license is ever perfect and so every license really needs an upgrade mechanism when a bug is found.
The FSF is the one organization you can trust to not make future versions of the license proprietary - the current license is designed not to allow that either.
When it comes to license upgrades, all upgrades from the {L}GPLv2 to {L}GPLv3 have been clarifications and further exceptions for activities deemed useful for free software and I have no doubt that the {L}GPLv3 to {L}GPLv4 upgrade (if required) will be any difference.
