What they are doing is not revoking anything but making a choice to license the new versions with some garbage license only, not the original BSD license, which is something a non copyleft open source license like BSD licenses allows *anyone* to do.
In any case, they've essentially just made a garbage fork of their own product which will be irrelevant in a couple years if not months. 🤷 🤡
