After today's discussions with #ActuallyAutistic people, I need to know: How do you feel about stickers?
I'm starting to begin to think that they are almost as significant autistic cultural artefact as plushies.😂 And, seriously speaking, identifying cultural artefacts we are drawn to is important part of building our cultural identity.
Just to be clear: Autism is not a performance, so nobody needs to like plushies or other cultural artefacts we may dig up in order to be a "good autist". I'm mainly interested about this topic, because as a rule, neuromajority has a strong tendency to ridicule just about anything neurodivergent. They need education about our culture, and our cultural preferences & choices need to be normalized and validated instead of eg. being misread as justification for infantilizing us.
Kawaii cartoon stickers for me, please!😊 (Also dinosaur 🦕 & rabbit 🐰 stickers are awesome).
