All this bullshit vapid rhetoric I hear about (liberal) opinions on how "unions scawwy" or "unions suck" is both a legitimate worry and false consciousness.
"Waauugghhhh union dues"
I saw a stat about how unions ensure workers get average 20% higher pay than non-union workers.
"Wauugghh union hierarchy scary"
Yes. Emphasize the abolition of all hierarchies. Unions do not carry the working class far enough, and need to be torn at some (currently) futhre position.
My trade doesnt really have a union, but workplace-adjacent trades *do* **and** they have incorporated some people from my trade into projects at times (within the union).
Cut to the chase:
Two days ago I called a relevant union to see if they wanted workers.
Yesterday they sent me an email outlining their pay agreements, benefits, etc. The pay is 2× my old employers.
Twice the pay.
Today I'm calling my mates and ex-coworkers.
Here's to making those workplaces ex-companies.
