So the tests I started earlier today to see how polls were working (unintentionally), the notification just came in and it was a single notification. So it **seems** the problem was as I theorized an artifact and already fixed.

That said please do tell me if either of you have any problems in the future and I'll look into it again. For now I'm marking this tentatively solved.
