I don't know if "full" transition (again, clunky language) trans men get the same "even worse than the cis men" treatment we get, or "just" being seen as the same threat level as cis men. I don't know.
But (again, some parts of the tumblr post I linked earlier resonate heavily with this) a lot of the time, trans women are treated as if we're a worse threat now than we were when we "were" cis men, and that is frankly the worst.
A cis man who behaves in a "feminine" way, who wears make-up or nail polish, is, pardon the crass language, sufficiently emasculated in the eyes of many to appear somewhat harmless. Probably gay and therefore not part of the cis man threat model anymore for most women.
Cross the line into trans woman territory, behave exactly the same way but under a different label, and suddenly you're a predator. You're not "in touch with your feminine side", you're in disguise. You're not "having female best friends", you're preying.
That is… I don't have a stronger word than "depressing".
It destroys you.
