I like to push water fountains for cats because:

Cats are constantly a little dehydrated because they would ideally get most of their water from food, but with dry kibble it is harder (although many urinary dry food formulas make them drink more preventatively).

Cats have a blind spot under their noses and can't always see the water line, so it is fraught with surprise. Seeing the reflections of flowing water in their perifory vision encourages them to drink more.
