Just to add an addendum to this, its standard procedure in conversion therapy bans to ban all directions - ie to make it illegal to try to force any person to change their sexual orientation or gender identity, including straight and cis people (because any grey area about it being ok to change a cis persons gender identity allows bigots to exploit it as a form of conversion therapy against gay people, and vice versa of conversion therapy about sexual orientation against transgender people).

The 2022 New Zealand Conversion Therapy Bill that passed seems to be where the current UK bill being proposed was cribbed from as it has the same foundational structure and subsections.
