@freequaybuoy the thing with that though is that the automobile being mass produced and distributed makes it so roads are often more congested, making it difficult for Fire and EMS to get on site. Not to mention car culture drives more people to live in lower ring suburbs and rural areas making rescue access difficult. Plus the significantly amount of casulties and destruction from so many personal vehicles stretches EMS and Fire resources.
Cars' mass production and consumption actually makes EMS and Fire less effective. It would save more lives if those were among the few vehicles on the road. So car culture results in a net loss of lives saved by fire and ambulance as well.
