We have upgraded to the latest version (4.2.7) to patch some vulnerabilities.We are also busy with the current spam issue. We have limited over a hundred instances so far and suspended many bot accounts.You may want to consider temporarily blocking direct messages from people you don’t follow.  To do that, go to Preferences ➡️ Notifications ➡️ Block direct messages.For now, new account signups will require manual approval. We're instituting a prompt with the following invitation:"The fediverse is experiencing a spam wave at the moment, and we're trying not to participate. Please share a cool story about the Bay Area with us to let us know you're human!"Thanks for the reports; they do help a lot.  Special thanks to @KeithDJohnson @mikec415 and @sysop408 for going above and beyond with reporting the spam.P.S.
