following the apointment of a new CEO, Mozilla has reportedly let go of roughly 60 employees which had maintained it's more privacy-focused features, including but not limited to it's VPN client. on this note, Mozilla wants to bring "Trustworthy AI" features to firefox.
while some think that we are watching a slow but gradual decline of an underdog who's browser shines as a love letter to those who fear to see chrome and it's forks take over the web, it is important to note that Google funds Mozilla out of fear that FireFox will cease to exist, because firefox needs to exist in order for chrome to technically not monopolize the way we interact with the web. this not only means that firefox isn't going to go anywhere, but that firefox would soon be a walking husk of it's former self before it ever needed to change-- why should it change if it's making pitty money?
