    The German word "gut" means "good".

    The word "besser" means "better".

    When someone is sick and you hope they will get well soon you wish them "Gute Besserung".

    Yes: Good bettering.

    I am not making this up, it's absolutely common. People don't even think about how funny this is.

    And in case you're wondering: There is no "bad worsening" for people you don't like.
