Long term, I think the thing that will be the undoing of the conservative movement—more than anything else—is corruption. It’s basically just wealthy donors and their sycophants and mercenaries. There’s no real loyalty or cohesion despite the efforts of groups like CPAC. Everyone is out for themselves.

At the end of the day, it’s more grift than ideological movement. It isn’t serious about governing for the people.And that’s doomed to ultimately fail in a democracy (if we can keep democracy).
