@lizmat and I have been domain registrars for 30 years this year. Last year we stopped being an official .nl domain registrar, and outsourced it. SIDN (Stichting Internet Domeinregistratie Nederland = Foundation Domain Registry NLD) became ridiculously expensive, but mostly they made new bureaucratic rules, and developed new stupid software systems that were increasingly difficult to use.

And now they just oursource it to Amazon. It's like we told Russia "do our gas".
