It's okay to feel frustrated over Firefish becoming abandoned, but nobody is entitled to it. Furthermore, it's FLOSS, as previously stated. Ergo, you, or others, are free to continue hacking away at it or maintaining it independently. Ultimately, in my opinion, the blame is primarily with adopters who built upon a fork of a deprecated version of (imho) superior software.
