I don't even think this is some grand "dumbing down" of the next generation either, I think it's just the natural consequence of the whole "no child left behind" bullshit. These kids aren't stupid intrinsically, they're just conditioned to do the bare minimum (or less) because they've never encountered consequences of any kind for doing so. 🤷
