You don't hate a donkey for kicking you, it's just doing what a donkey does and it doesn't know any better. If the good is objectively better than evil, then even the most apparently intelligent people that would commit evil are still no better than a beast for lacking the enlightenment that would lead them to the good. That being said, I think it's beneficial to automatically be hateful of certain things, even if you then have to reel in that hate after the fact and act according to principle.
