Imagine spending 4 years of your life learning about the internet and technology and how to shape this underworld we've created that exists somewhere in-between reality and imagination to be a better place, to become the dystopian (yes, I do not mean utopian) universe you dreamt about and felt like was the coolest thing ever... A thrilling sub-universe full of stuff of all sorts where information flowed freely from all sources and ghosted the reality we all inhabit, but making it more accesible, and allowing you to be a mere spectator of it rather than being forced to actively participate in it...

Only to discover the idea you had in mind isn't actually what anybody wants, and everybody has just developed this deep brainrot that forces them to follow the path of least resistance into the hands of deeply rotten corporations who milk every possible cent out of every single user, turning them into not-even-human money-printing machines who only really serve the purpose of making them bigger for the sake of making them bigger... The inperfect humanity you craved to experience fading away at an evergrowing pace only to leave automated machinery feeding you the same regurgitated content day in and day out so you remain hooked to something you barely even enjoy anymore, but that has you hooked like heroin, because it's all you've ever known, and has shaped you to be another brainless cog of the soulless system they have created.

I miss the internet. Something I barely got to experience. And something I feel I would have deeply enjoyed if it ever came to exist in the way I've always wanted it to... But I guess such is reality, and as discouraging as it is to see your friends and yourself become cogs, all I can do is fight my small war, and hope other people will listen, and at some point the internet will regain at least a little bit of its flawed, imperfect, disgusting, beautiful humanity that once made it so appealing to us all.
