Evan Prodromou@andybaio This is a wonderful analysis. I see some ways to avoid this issue with future social software systems. One is technical -- storing user data on systems controlled by the user, for example. The other is social -- using organizational structures like cooperatives or non-profits to keep (or at least try to keep) organizational goals aligned with the users.
