i think the original automation tax suggestions were thought to pay for the displaced workers. i think they'd embezzle it like everything else--but that was one of the old proposals.

i wondered about this from the perspective of measuring labor by 'standard human work hours', as in, measure all labor as though you had a human doing it with little/no tools.
