@sjw @matrix Pascal's wager states that it is rational to believe in god because the penalties of not believing and it being true is worse than believing and it being false
What if the rationale for atheists is the similiar
They look for anything to grasp onto to prove to themselves that god isnt real because they know they are terrible people who have done awful deeds and the idea that god is real horrifies them because that means they will receive proper recompense for their actions
