@briankrebs I use a local icecast server that plays sleep sounds in a loop to make it work nicely with Sonos. I made a home assistant automation that hits a local API endpoint I wrote to pause/play the icecast stream so it's not streaming to nowhere and then play it on Sonos.

Sonos can play files off a network share but it's really bad at it.
