@thegreatape @7666 Air fryers are just small convection ovens with higher speed fans and sometimes a vertical tiered cooking chamber. It's small, so it heats up faster (one minute vs ten to fifteen minutes to get to 400 °
    F) . It can cook at a reduced temperature if needed for smoke points and still be faster than an oven (general conversion is -25°F for normal convection and 2/3 normal cook time). Smaller units can fit their cooking chamber entirely in a sink or dishwasher to clean, and the only "gross" point would be the fan, which most designs shroud significantly to prevent potential grease accumulation or contact. And you can use a continuous sprayer to put cooking oil if your choice or ghee on foods to give it a real "fried" taste. Honestly it's so much better, I seldom use my real oven and use the microwave far less frequently since getting an air fryer.
