There's too much data for a Mastodon thread, but you can see this in reliability surveys of cars, not just in the data itself, but in what questions people even bother asking on reliability surveys
In my lifetime, Consumer Reports reviewed how reliably cars started. It would be absurd to review that today, but many new cars used to have trouble starting. Now, that's so rare that a friend of mine pointed out that I trended on reddit, twice, for posting a photo of a car not starting.
