So you aren't choosing which people or content you want to follow but instead it can be through a different medium. Mastodon has some features. Pixelfed has others. Lemmy and Kbin can be followed here but there are some unique things there. So, it almost becomes how do I want the content presented rather than where can I find the content. So far, I've liked Mastodon the best.
