Pastor of Muppets@feld They're...kind of right. Technically any hard-skinned squash can be called a pumpkin, but Dickinsons are closer to butternut squash than sugar "pie" pumpkins or field pumpkins. And sugar pumpkins make excellent pie -- they're right that you shouldn't use jack o' lantern pumpkins, but they're wrong that fresh is always worse.
