@a1ba agree but rpi uses it on all examples so I didn't tried to code without it.

I like how espressif does with their sdktools(espidf) they have their own plugin/library/component manager(IDF Component Registry) and it's tools deals with everything from linking, adding and downloading it. So coding on it is very comfy but it's heavier than cmake
