Indeed. It's not just that Ukraine needed that boost of hope, I myself feel happy and relieved: EU seems to get its act together, slowly but steadily. The rightwing politician Victor Orbán relented, the former rightwing government of Poland under Mateusz Morawiecki was finally replaced by the cabinet of Donald Tusk (more centrist and EU-friendly), thus it feels like Putin loses more influence in Europe via his connections to the political right. It's a joyous day for Europe, irrespective all the bad news flying left and right. :-)
