Our Food For Less had a grumpy elderly Filipino security guard at the front door to keep people from dashing with a full cart. I frequently saw him get into arguments with shoppers who didn't want to show him their receipt. After we'd been going there about a year, they installed a metal gate at the front door, with an opening too small to fit a cart through. You have to push your cart through another opening that's off to one side, then go through a turnstile and retrieve it. It only takes an extra few seconds, but it's awkward enough to slow people down so they can't make a proper dash. Never saw that Filipino guard again. He was replaced by a metal gate. So my wife and I joke with each other now, "Watch it, you too could be replaced by a metal gate". Too bad, so sad, many such cases
