As someone that is vehemently anti domestic abuse, in all its forms, I'm cognizant of the fact that around holidays abuse spikes as well as around pub and shop closing time. I'm never suggesting we have no holidays or that we never close shops or even ban alcohol, but being able to highlight these correlations helps us with prevention and assistance. Which has helped with reduction. Please don't think I'm comparing the two.
