@Moon @trans_caracal In many cases yes, but in others (Norman Sicily and the Holy Roman Empire under Frederick II come to mind) Muslims were deliberately sought out for their knowledge in multicultural and multifaith courts. And most of the eminent Jewish scholars of the Middle Ages and the early modern period were themselves either in Muslim held territory or in territory where the recent influence of Islamic thought was particularly strongly felt.
