@TechConnectify @DoubleA On the one hand, kind of yes, but also on the other, it very much isn't? Land is very often scarce, fenced off, and violently defended from such use, never mind that resources in general are scarce in a way that knowledge, skills, and digital data isn't.
There's labour and resource shortages involved, yes, absolutely, but FOSS is free in terms of money, and not necessarily harder or more cumbersome to use than proprietary alternatives, just less marketed.
