Partly true. It’s more that the truly messed up concentrate in certain key areas. The entire states of New York and California, and certain cities. In these places, the most malignant and obnoxious of the stereotypes are real. However, these places also exert cultural projection on the rest of the country, hence why everybody talks about them so much.

Good thing there’s cultural projection from other sources to countervail it.
