@piki @McPatrick @kevinrns you see that blue blob getting big? it's because they're converting coal to natural gas in places where there is no other way to decommission a coal plant and still provide the base load needed for the grid in that area

I worked at a power utility from 2013-2016 fwiw. We had a lot of mandatory training about how the grid works, how the utilities interconnect, the regulations, the requirements, the things blocking us from deploying more solar/wind to completely replace gas/coal plants, etc
