サンクスギビングにバーモント州の祖母の家を訪ねていたパレスチナ人学生と他の大学に通う同じく2人のパレスチナ人学生、土曜の夜に3人で道を歩いていたところを男に撃たれた。
2人の怪我の状態は安定しているがもう1人は重症。

3人とも20歳の大学生。夕ご飯の前に散歩していたところを撃たれた。パレスチナ伝統のスカーフを着用していた。

“In this charged moment, no one can look at this incident and not suspect that it may have been a hate-motivated crime,”
「現段階において、この事件をみてヘイトによる犯罪だと誰にも疑うことは出来ない」
という警察のコメントに非難の声も。

逮捕された犯人はJason J. Eaton 48歳。
詳細はまだ明らかになっていない。
