Still not sure why there is so much shock and surprise in response to the #OpenAI drama. The moment I learned the nonprofit had started a for-profit and taken billions from Microsoft, it seemed inevitable that the tail would end up wagging the dog, and OpenAI would be dominated by money motives.

It wasn't guaranteed to be so dramatic, and of course the details could have played out many different ways. But something like this was going to happen.

I can't be the only one thinking this.
