Sometimes, especially when the people talking are level-headed about it, it can be useful but 9/10 times it's exactly, or similar, to how you describe throughout the thread.
>But why these civilian casualties? There are civilian casualties all over the earth on a regular basis.
I am outraged by any civilian casualties, and with few exceptions it's all I focus on in a conflict. Though I must admit I can get caught up in the hype myself. I try my best not to, but I'd never meet the like minded people I've met on this crazy journey if I had never voiced and/or defended my true opinions. Instead focusing to shitpost all the time.
>Why not the REEEEEEing from Hutus or Tutsis? This is what I'm getting at: you care about these groups, one of these is funny and one is not.
No, that's not it at all. The schadenfreude is off the charts because of all the complaining from the Israelis over the holocaust and never again, so seeing them doing the exact same shit and then complaining is both funny as fuck and incredibly validating; after all the "alt-right" nasties turned out to at least be partially right. Nonetheless, any reeeeeing is funny. The Ukraine reeeeing was pretty funny on both sides. Mask reeeing and vaccine reeeeeing was also pretty funny.
Reeeeeing is just funny. The degree to which is, unfortunately and always, situational.
