The mawkish sentimentalism around Blockbuster shits me to be honest. Maybe it's because I'm old enought to remember an era when nearly all video stores were independent businesses and reflected the quirks of the individuals who owned and worked in them. Blockbuster killed all that. Also, as they gradually took over the independent stores they inevitably gutted the horror sections and threw out all the cult stuff.
