IncidentallyâINCIDENTALLYâI had done, some time this morning, a small patch to the Pleroma "BBS" feature: local timeline and twkn, DMs, listing posts by ID (flake ID or AP ID), and some tweaks to post display: timestamps, attachments, and "in-reply-to". The "show post" character is "," (the brainfuck "input" instruction), and if a post is a reply, its AP ID shows up as a line that starts with ", " so you can just copypaste the line to go upthread. There's no way to navigate back *down* the thread. I think udongein is probably correct to move it into its own thing, s, so maybe I'll do a similar client: I really like `upas/nedmail` for reading mail,. (The point of doing this isn't that it's quite so serious, but it is where the "morning warm-up hack" has been tugging lately.) Anyway, between this and the shoutbox client, j as long as you don't mind, e.g., no paragraphs or attachments, this is a kind of fun way to talk to fedi, and ssh is accessible from basically anything. Runs exactly as fast on the Plan 9 box, the RISC-V DevTerm, regular Linux. So I can sit and do my work, using drawterm to talk to a weird OS an tfrom a weird little machine, and either of those can talk to fedi.
