It's a struggle to find fic authors' fediverse accounts, if you're not already following them.

When reccing on Twitter, I used to search for the fic URL, and that would usually turn up the author's promo post, if they had one. Then I'd quote-tweet their promo with my rec.

Here, I can't quote-post or search for URLs, so I've mostly given up on trying to find author promos. Hashtagging the author name is not a perfect solution, but it's grown on me over time.
