The book Fear by Bob Woodward opens with Steve Bannon, as he was candidate-shopping in 2014. He asks Trump for his position on issues like abortion, and swiftly corrects him: like “nope, you can win unless you’re against it” and of course, Trump was willing to do whatever it took to win.
I don’t think Bannon said it outright, but he knew Trump was easy to manipulate & control—that’s why he picked that horse.
