People like John Eastman and Jeffery Clark aren’t doing this because they admire or like Trump. They’re doing it because they have wanted and worked toward this for decades, as modern history of far-right conservative politics demonstrates. On a smaller stage, in certain states and counties, for decades we’ve seen authoritarians who want to control what we read, write, say, worship, NOT worship (god forbid), learn in school, even music we hear—their time has come. They have *almost* arrived.
